Its hexagonal tower is 40 meters tall and serves as an lookout from which the rest of île d’Oléron can be seen, as well as the coast line, île de Ré, la Rochelle, île d’Aix, Fort Boyard, Fouras, Rochefort, Marennes, and Ronce les Bains.
 

Saint-Pierre’s church dates from 1623, and was built on the site of a church destroyed in the 16th century during the wars of religion.
