L’Autre Café, a restaurant on rue Jean-Pierre-Timbaud in a snowstorm.

Snow falling in front of L’Autre Café, formerly known as «Les Demoiselles de Ménilmontant», run by Olivier Loiret until the spring of 2018 at the corner of rue Édouard-Lockroy and rue Jean-Pierre-Timbaud. At the beginning of the 20th century, «Les Demoiselles de Ménilmontant» was a “certain kind” of café. Workers of the neighborhood gathered at the end of the day, dirty elbows on greasy tables, to drink and forget. Some staggered upstairs to lie down with the pretty girls from the sidewalks of rue d’Angoulême, renamed rue Jean-Pierre-Timbaud in 1945 in honor of the union activist, shot by the occupying forces in 1941.
