The façade of the king’s bedroom in château de Versailles

The façade of the king’s bedroom in the Palace of Versailles, built facing the marble courtyard in 1701, seen from the royal courtyard, where daily ceremonies honoring the king as he woke up and went to sleep. The façade is decorated with a clock surrounded by statues of the Roman gods Mars and Hercules by Gaspard Marsy, Balthazar Marsy and François Girardon, allegories to the military victories of King Louis XIV. King Louis XV died in the room on May 10th 1743.
