A restaurant boat put out of business by the River Seine floods of January 2018

La Péniche Marcounet in front of île Saint-Louis seen from quai de l’Hôtel-de-Ville. Dozens of restaurant boats are obliged to close for three or four weeks when the River Seine floods as high as it did at the end of January 2018, rising 18 feet above its usual level. Naturally those trees are planted in firm ground, in the «Parc rives de Seine», formerly known as the Voie sur berges Georges-Pompidou highway.
