Arnys was founded in 1932 by Jankel Grimbert, and is run by his grandsons, Jean Grimbert and Michel Grimbert

Gary Walther wrote in Travel+Life Magazine:
I’ve fiddled with my look so it can carry me from a café to the Crillon lobby and back by day. It’s more Right Bank than Left, although one of my favorite men’s clothing stores, Arnys, is on the Left Bank, at 14 rue de Sèvres; more cashmere than corduroy; more blue and gray than brown and green (Italian colors). It’s double-breasted sports jackets and woven wool ties by day, French cuffs and a Charvet silk tie (gotta support the home team) by night. It may all sound like too much trouble but in fact it’s a real pleasure, and as we all know clothing and courtship are ardent bedfellows: My girlfriend remembers exactly what she was wearing (Nina Ricci) the first time I took her to Taillevant, just as Rick remembered exactly what Ilsa had on the last time he saw her: “The Germans wore gray, you wore blue.”
