Built to celebrate Henri II’s entrance in Paris, fontaine des Innocents replaced an older one that dated from Philippe Auguste’s time.
  

Fontaine des Innocents was built from 1546 to 1549 by Jean Goujon, on designs of Pierre Lescot.
