Square Adolphe Willette, the park laid out below Sacré-Coeur, is named after the local artist who turned out on inauguration day to shout, “Long live the devil!”

Sacré-Coeur’s architecture was inspired by the 12th-century five-domed Romanesque Church of Saint-Front in Perigueux.
