Saint Sulpice was born in 540 of a Gallo-Roman family at Vatan, in the Berry region of France.

In his novel, “The da Vinci Code”, Dan Brown says the initials “P&S” in this rose window stand for Priory of Sion. In fact, they stand for “Pierre and Sulpice”. Da Vinci Code fans might like to look at Ben Hammott’s site about Rennes-le-Château.
